WHY DODIK’S NATIONALISTIC RHETORIC GOES UNCHECKED

Posted on June 5, 2008 by Bosnjaci.Net

BOSANSKI

You, as a leader and the promoter of peace and stability in the region, and in your capacity as the High Representative, should use your Bonn powers and dismiss Prime Minister Dodik from his position. We need a High Representative who will set out a comprehensive, sustained, and long term fulfillment of international obligations towards Bosnia and Herzegovina. With Dodik in power in the Republika Srpska entity, peace and progress are impeded in Bosnia. We request your prompt action in this matter.

To the High Representative and EU Special Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina
Mr. Miroslav Lajčak

Honorable High Representative Lajčak,

The Congress of North American Bosniaks (CBNA), an umbrella organization representing 350,000 Bosniaks living in The United States and Canada, strongly condemns Mr. Milorad Dodiks’ recent statement that Bosnia was imposed upon Bosnian Serbs. Nationalistic rhetoric has been his forte since coming to power in Republika Srpska. It is clear now, that his main aim while in power has been to undermine the sovereignty, integrity and stability of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

We are deeply troubled that Mr. Dodik’s nationalistic rhetoric goes unchecked. Dodik’s inflammatory and nationalistic rhetoric has been one of the main causes of a perpetual political crisis in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region as a whole. Political officials lead their people. When government leaders articulate ultra-nationalist views, their people follow.

Respectfully,

On behalf of CNAB
Emir Ramić
President of the Governing Board of CNAB

CC: Members of the Council for Implementation of Peace
Members of international organizations
Ambassadors in Bosnia and Herzegovina
