![]() Trifunovic: Astroturf of Milosevic’s and Seselj’s ideology ![]() |
Dear Sir/Madam:
The fact that one of the speakers invited to the 11th European Police Congress is dr. Darko Trifunovic, a lecturer at the Faculty of Security, University of Belgrade, is an insult to the victims of the Serbian aggression in Bosnia and Herzegovina, more specifically to the dead of the Srebrenica genocide, as well as to their surviving family members.
Evidently, Trifunovic has been successful in portraying himself as an expert on Islamic terrorism, but in reality he has become a leading spin doctor of the dreadful but still alive ideology of the late Slobodan Milosevic, Mr. Vojislav Seselj, and the like.
The real and /or imaginary Islamic terrorism comes handy so that he may deny and/or justify the bloody reality (still so vivid in our memories) that took place in the name of a greater and pure Serbia. To deny events like the genocidal Srebrenica massacre, the largest mass murder in Europe since World War II and the immediate post-war years, and to advocate the moving of Serbian tanks into Kosovo and bombing it as soon as Kosovo’s independence becomes a reality, are good indicators of his “intellectual orientation.â€
Dr. Trifunovic has jumped on the bandwagon of anti-terrorism, but all indications are that his primary interest is to deny and/or justify Serbia’s recent bloody deeds and to “protect Serbian national interest†today, just as Milosevic did in the early 1990s. You are urged, therefore, to reconsider your invitation to dr. Trifunovic to address the Congress because his presence will be offensive to many of those who have suffered because of the ideology he represents.
Sincerely,
Ante Cuvalo, Ph. D.
