The dispute over the election of Bosnian Council shows no sign of abating.
The newest statements by the Serbian Human and Minority Rights Minister Svetozar Čiplić threatened “a fire that would engulf all the citizens who live in Sandžak†if things do not go the way Serbian government wants.
Furthermore he reminded Muslim population of Sandzak that all depends on their acceptance of Serbian Government demands for new elections.“Political stability depends on the citizens, primarily on Bosniaks themselves. And they certainly won’t set a fire to their own home.â€
Minister was clear about expectations for the Muslim people of Sandzak with his words “I expect that the National Bosniak Council will finally be formed after the repeated elections,†he told Serbian daily VeÄernje Novosti. And if that does not happen, “The only ones who have suffered in this situation are Bosniaks themselves,†the minister was quoted as saying.
This kind of statements undoubtedly remind Bosniaks of the similar statements of War Criminal Radovan Karadzic who used same tone to describe what’s coming in Bosnia if things don’t turn the way Serbs want. Karadzic said in the Bosnian parliament addressing Bosnian president at that time: “Do not think you will not lead Bosnia and Herzegovina into hell and the Muslim people into possible annihilation, as the Muslim people cannot defend themselves in case of war here.â€
As it is customary in Serbia, for all Serbian aggressive political calculations blame is place on everyone Americans, Europeans, NATO, Muslims, Croats, Albanians … But never own policies of alienation of minorities or neighbors. So Minister Ciplic also tried to blame Bosnian political leaders for their political activism in which they demand equal rights for Bosniaks and Muslims in Sandzak.
Commenting on the possibility that the repeated elections could put a strain on political situation in Sandžak, he said: “I have noticed that one of political leaders is trying to turn social relations into a fire that would engulf all the citizens who live in Sandžak,†the human and minority rights minister pointed out as if there is no role that Serbian government played in the current crisis.
We remind or readers of our previous articles where Bosniaks representatives warned about aggressive violations of their rights by the Serbian Government. Islamic Community in Serbia Chief Mufti Muamer Zukorlić’s announced that his organization will urge boycott of the upcoming new elections for Bosnian council demanded by the Serbian Government.
