CONGRESSMAN BRETT GUTHRIE (R-KY) JOINS BOSNIA CAUCUS
Congressman Guthrie is a former state senator who served in the Kentucky Senate from 2000-2008. Currently, Congressman Guthrie serves on both the House Energy and Commerce (E&C) Committee and the House Committee on Education and the Workforce. E&C is the oldest standing legislative committee in the House of Representatives with jurisdiction over our nation's energy, healthcare, telecommunications and consumer product safety policies.
"We are honored to have Congressman Guthrie as a member of the Bosnia Caucus and we look forward to working with him and his staff on issues related to Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) and on further strengthening the bond between the United States and BiH," stated ACBH Executive Director, Ajla Delkic.
Congressman Guthrie graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, with a degree in economics and went on to serve as a Field Artillery Officer in the 101st Airborne Division - Air Assault at Fort Campbell. He later earned a Master's Degree from Yale University in Public and Private Management.
The Bosnia Caucus, chaired by longstanding friends of BiH, Congressman Chris Smith (R-NJ) and Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson (D-TX) provides congressional support for necessary political and economic reforms in BiH and works to strengthen the U.S. engagement in the region.
