CUSTODY ORDER AGAINST SERBIAN MARKO BOSKIC, SUSPECTED OF GENOCIDA COMMITTED IN SREBRENICA
The State Court orders custody of Marko Boskic, suspected of genocide committed in Srebrenica.
Accepting the State Prosecution's proposal, the State Court has ordered one-month custody of Marko Boskic, a former member of the 10th Reconnaissance Squad with the Republika Srpska Army, VRS, who is suspected of the shooting and murder of Bosniaks who were captured after the fall of the protected zone of Srebrenica in July 1995.
On April 28 this year Boskic was extradited from the United States to judicial institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He was arrested at Sarajevo International Airport.
"After having considered the available evidence, the Court determined that there are grounds for suspicion that the suspect committed the crime charged upon him," the State Court's announcement says.
The Court indicated that custody was ordered due to fears that the suspect might seek to flee or influence witnesses and "a real threat that the public order might be disturbed".
Vlastimir Golijan, Zoran Goronja, Stanko Savanovic and Franc Kos, former members of the 10th Reconnaissance Squad, are being held in custody on suspicion that they participated in the same crime.
