Dear Survivors and Allies,
This is just a reminder that our event, “Voices from Srebrenica: An Online Book Panel,” is happening in two days. Join us on Thursday, March 25, at 12:00 PM CST to hear from the authors, Hasan Hasanović and Ann Petrilla, as well as Emir Suljagić, Director of the Srebrenica Memorial Center.
This is a unique opportunity to hear the stories of fourteen survivors of the Bosnian Genocide that were shared in the book, reminding us of the human costs of genocide. Hear the authors tell their stories of remembrance while in discussion with Jessica Hulten, Education Outreach Coordinator, Illinois Holocaust Museum & Education Center; Ida Sefer, President, Bosnian-American Genocide Institute; and David Pettigrew, Professor, Southern Connecticut State University, and Board Member, Bosnian-American Genocide Institute. After the discussion, the audience will have an opportunity to ask questions.
Thank you to the Illinois Holocaust Museum & Education Center for co-hosting this event with BAGI, and to our community partners, War Childhood Museum; Educators Institute for Human Rights; Together We Remember; Yale Genocide Studies Program; Advisory Council for Bosnia and Herzegovina (ACBH);Bosnian-North American Women’s Association; The HERO Center; Center for Bosnian Studies at Fontbonne University and the Congress of North American Bosniaks.
“Voices from Srebrenica” is the first book in the Bosnian-American Genocide Institute’s book club.
