Two more Bosnia and Herzegovina Prosecution witnesses recalled the participation of Suljo Karajic in the crimes against detainees during 1994.
The last two witnesses of State Prosecution against Suljo Karajic talked about how he mistreated and murdered members of the People’s Defence of the Autonomous Region of Western Bosnia (NOAPBZ).
“We were captured at Kozija glava and taken away to a man who had a white uniform and was said to be called Suljo Karajic or Hodza. In front of us he murdered Fikret Usidic, and then Hajrudin Pilipovic was killed, even I don’t know who did that,” remembered protected witness L, who gave his testimony from another room outside of the courtroom , with voice and picture modification.
This witness claims that he was captured together with other members of the NOAPZB on December 25 1994 after that he was brought to cafe “Stop”, “where Karajic was coming.”
Suljo Karajic, also known as Hodza, as a former member of the Bosnian Army is held responsible, among other things, for participating from December 1994 to February 1995 in the capture, murders, mistreatment and illegal imprisonment of members of NOAPZB at cafe “Stop” and basement of the motel “Radoc”.
Karajic was at the time, according to the indictment, a commanding officer of the Second battalion of the Military police’s 505 brigade Fifth Corps of the Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“Suljo was eating in a cafe where we were detained with a certain Sabahudin Budo and one other guy. The same day we were transported by trucks to hotel ‘Radoc’ in Buzim where members of the Fifth Corp were waiting for us to beat us,” said witness L.
During imprisonment in Buzim, said L, he spent “nine months and five days” and saw Karajic twice. In September 1995 witness L was released together with other members of NOAPBZ.
Second Prosecution witness H was arrested on December 25 1994 and taken away with other members to cafe “Stop” and motel “Radoc”, where he also saw the accused Karajic.
“Karajic brought to the cafe witness F who I asked what happened with Fikret Usidic and Fikret Kovacevic. He told me that Karajic killed them. Karajic had a fixator on a left hand at that time and was skinny,” said witness H.
This witness said he stayed imprisoned in Buzim for “around 50 days” and during that time Karajic came once and brought a certain Causevic with whom he was beaten “with hands, feet and butt-ends.”
Witness H, in the group of 12 managed to escape on March 25 1995 from detention.
The next trial session will be held on November 6 with the questioning of the court expert and presentation of material evidence by the State Prosecution.
